Second

Yes, I am second out of two times posted on strava for the loop around the prairie. It was another 1.3 miler in 10 minutes. No warm up, lotta wind. Just filling the quota, Coulda probably gone big today, but instead I went and mowed my lawn (part of it) and trimmed it and pulled a bunch of weeds. Man, if I've let anything slip this year, it's been yardwork/housework. I can't do everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Inside

All durn day inside. Boring. I felt like garbage. We are all sleep deprived.
Anyway, I finally got out at 11:40 pm and got my mile done. Doggo waited on the corner again. Poor pup.

Derby

For a good ole' redneckin time, getcha some tickets to the crashem up derby! Fights, rollovers, extrication, ambulance transports. It was really fun. Especially to watch my little guy watch it. Oh the girls loved it, too, But boys and crashing cars? Heaven!
This morning was spend riding four wheelers over and over. Up, down, through the stream. Way fun. Then, driving home from camping, I took the Honda Pilot on a pretty awesome narrow, steep, windy, rocky road. Wifey would not have approved and the poor kids didn't know what was going on until it was scary to look out the windows. I was lovin it. The girls were scared. The boy was just chillin. Too young to care.

And, of course before the derby I did a quick onesie across the way there in the usual spot.

Hair

Yes, its gone. Chopped it down to 1/8 of an inch last night. Yikes. It was time I reckon.
After a brutal 3 hour test which left me feeling dumb and wondering if I had just spaced the last year, I went for a quick run. I found out from others that they all felt the same and I ended up doing ok on the exam. The real one isn't for a year, so it's nice to have a glimpse of how it'll be now. ANYhoo! The run...
I wanted to do the fun armstrong to spiro, but time did not allow, so I took the new HAM which cuts off about 3 miles from that loop. It was still gorgeous and fun and lovely. I did it in my fivefingers which is not the  best pair of shoes considering the rocky terrain. Good stuff, though. Love me that area. 6 miles in about an hour.
Then it was campin with the kids and my parents and some brothers and some of their kids. WAY Fun.

Softball

It had honestly been about nine years since I had swung a bat. But froggero and I jogged 1.3 mi to the little league field where 7 grown men had a little home run derby. It was really fun. Then we jogged back with John on his bike. I hope we do that again. It would actually be kinda fun to get a team and play in a league. But, come on, that's not gonna happen. So 2.6 miles on the day. Wow.

hot spot

it was 85 degrees. I put on my bottoms and boots and went out to see if an additional insole would help my heel blister problem. It may have. But I only did 1.4 because the old blister isn't healed yet. I did a 9:20 and it was fine. Of course, I didn't have a coat or helmet. Sent a note to Guinness to see if they could change my attempt to the half marathon without re-applying. Seems more doable.
We shall see...

Pioneers

I reckon this could have been a similar view for the early settlers. Sb1 and I  did the 1.3mi loop just after sundown.

Double Rainbow

Out my own car window. This really pertied up my commute. This was after I attempted to run 4 miles in the turnouts. Beginning to REALLY doubt myself...

sabbath

nine thirty, time to trot out the usual loop across the way. One mile. Doggo must be really hurting now. He just hung out in the neighbor's yard. I'm feeling pretty good though, thanks for asking. My feet skin is doing quite well.

Nobletts in the rain

 Way cool hike with the 3 kidlets and the big dog while mommy went to work.
then BOOM, a rain cloud snuck over the hill and opened up on us. The natural born trail runners started cruisin for the car. We got soaked!
Fun

Then E and I went out for a one miler at 10:30 cause she couldn't sleep. Doggo came with again, but you can tell his front hips are buggin. Poor guy.

Feet!!!

Is this going to be a problem? I've got some figgerin out to do. 2 miles this am when it was cool worked me over at over ten minutes per mile and left this giant sore on my right heel (bone spur).
Friz at lunch - awesome.
Then, since my shoes hurt I naturally ran 6.7 barefoot feeling amazing, but leaving my soles in shambles. Hmmm. Think think think...

Turnouts

Does this look comfortable to run in? Well it isn't. But I did one mile in 'em. We'll see how it goes doing 26.2...

Then SB1 and I did a dusk run for 2.6 miles. Slow and easy. Nice. Roll it out, stretch a bit and bed time.

Strong Arm

Danno and I went up armstrong and down spiro for his first time. My second this year. We chilled. There was walking and chatting and laughing. It was really fun and nice to hang with him again. 9 miles. Hot, but occasionally shady.

Neat

I think this is pretty, do you? Got rained out on my trail attempt, but it's better because wife had to go back to work. So at 2030 I did 2.4 by my lonesome with a couple sets of push ups. I think I need to get my arms back. I miss em.
Fun friz at noon, too.

7th day

round the horn. Same old mile. I think fez's hips are bugging him more, he just hung out on the corner. Poor guy.

lightning

another late late mile with the dog. Lightning was perty but never rained.

Fat

Is how I felt cause I ran too soon after eating.
SB1 and I did a twoski around the barn for 1.7 miles. wind!
But nice to be out. Good temp.

Got to see a human brain today during an aneurysm clipping in the circle of willis. cool.

Cloud shade

Still so hot! But SB1 and I cruised around the barn 4 times for a 5.4 mile excursion. It was nice. (and did I mention the heat?)

Kids in bed, headed out with the dog and, hey! the wife came too. How delightful. Thanks girl!
One mile

hot

So there I was, running on the hot hot prairie, when the tones went off. I was pretty far away, so I turned it up and cut diagonal back to the barn. I thought I'd have to go back out later, but I traced it on google earth and I.m going to call it good. One hot, hurried mile. Hoorah.

Dutch

Since my boyos hit the mighty timp without me (boo!) I stopped off at dutch and got me three hot hot miles. Very nice.

dogless

picked up the fam today, but can't pick up the dog til tomorrow. I missed him a bit on my one miler at 2340 tonight.

Thunder bumper

Most perfect timing. Drove from my last day in Roy and got to the trailhead with over an hour to spare for work during a big summer downpoor (much needed). As soon as it lightened up, off I went for a beautiful 5 miles of tacky, cool, trail lovin. Felt grrrrrreat! Occasional mud or puddle was easily avoided. Fun.
Wishin I had time to do it more.

Small town parade

Last year the candy quantity suffered greatly. This has been a problem for years. Small town parades are supposed to toss enough candy to keep a kid sugarred up until at least tomorrow, and better still beyond.

Enter the legends: 675 pounds of salt water taffy. This was the only purpose of our parade entry. And, wow! We got it all out in the 7 short blocks  of what would have otherwise been just another boring parade.

Oh, then I ran a mile just before midnight with my dog in the canyon.

Fire!

I thought it was the same one, but it's a new one, closer. So I sucked smoke for a half hour while I did three trail miles. Look at the nastiness! The sun was a deep glowing orange behind the smoke- red with sunglasses. Way cool lookin.

Oh and friz was great as always.

chance

While running one mile to the creepy chiropractor, I ran into my buddy Adam by chance - again. Some day we'll hang out on purpose. Steve-o fixed me up real nice and then it was Kneaders and off to the UC for a day full of memories and family. Nice service. Then cramming for the test I missed.
