Remember?

Memorial day. Soggy DV trails.
A little mid mountain.
A little sunrise.
A little homestake. Good times indeed.
5.4 mi. In one hour. 1500 el. (mas o menos).
Had to keep "checking in"

Do I really need my Pinky toe?

Cause I might have busted it. About half a mile into the trail, I caught the outside of my 5 finger on a root and it hurt ever so badly. Of course, like an idiot, I continued. Super rocky trail made the pain even worse. What a baby, huh?
Plantar fasciitis? Hope not.
Can you guess what I put under that rock?
1 hour 50 minutes. 7.8 miles. Over 2700 ft el. gain/loss.
This is the end of the event trail. THE trail.

Brighton and CPR

Started at 5800 feet and power hiked (with very little running) all the way to 9700 feet. 8.75 miles.
Then it was Snow joggin for a couple of miles and trotting down down down. I still needed an hour, so I took a side road (7200 feet or so) and went up to 8200, scaring a herd of does along the way. Then down to my car for a 21.4 mile adventure in 4 hours 50 minutes. (6000 ft el. gain/loss) I have to call it adventure, not a run because I do not run up steep hills or any snowy hills. Big wuss, huh?
3 PB and H's, 4 GU blocks, a lot of potato chips, a granola bar, 100 ml of water, 10 oz Gatorade.
Then some pork Tostadas at the Tarahumara, a mexicoke, a choco milk, and a donut.
And for recovery, taught 5 hours of CPR.Hooray adventure.

Swimmer

A nice change. I got in the OFC 50 meter pool and went long and slow. I spent a good hour and I believe I swam 2800. Just took 'er easy.

DV loops.

Once again, a perfectly timed break in the weather allowed me to get an hour in my 5 fingers. Too much pavement, though. And I had to still wear tights and a long sleeve. It's the end of May! There were hills and I did some long loops which helped break it up. 6.78 miles in an hour. I like slow!

Timberlakes

Losing it! Too much going on, supports weakening. What do I do? I throw cheese. Dork.
Thanks, Sharleen for taking the gremlins. Got in an hour in the 5fingers at TL. 6.28 miles. Passed our lot and hit the "summit" on the paved road. (~7800 ft sobre el nivel del mar)

Adventure

Jefe and his bitch accompanied me on an ambitious "trail" "run".
There was lots of snow. Lots of hiking. Lots of asphault. A little skiing. Good good times.
4:20 brought us 17.5 miles. Elevation gain/loss about 5700.
2 PB&H, trailmix, 100 oz H2O. Need more salt next time.
Strained Right Achilles and uber-tired.

Sasquatch

Hit some other trails after Microbiology class. It was a little moist and I left some tracks that might leave some believing that Bigfoot is lurking in the foothills of the UC. (Gracias Five Fingers)
Special gift from the weather gods: It was rainy all day, then at precisely 15:41, it cleared up and remained clear until 16:41, when the clouds and sprinkles returned. 6 miles

Pretty new shoes

Hit the trails in my new Vibram Five Fingers. Love them! I spent an hour five trotting around, feeling mother earth in my feetsies. Went 6 miles. Slow, but happy.

George

It absolutely lived up to its hype. The most difficult race I and 2000 other idiots have done.
But I did it.
I ate well, I drank enough, I used my chia seed.
I really enjoyed the day. Todd, Rob, Steve, Rich, Kathy, Devo, Spencer, Wayne, partrujos, wife, suegra, kimmels, berrys, jeffs. It was a social ironman and it was fun!
I never pushed it because I knew I didn't have it this time around as you can see by the last few months of posts and lack of posts.

It was beautiful and a great break.
A little hike Thursday morning.
Short swim with Robert Thursday afternoon.
Short spin with the boys Friday morning.
Followed with a real quick jog with Todd.
Went in feeling great.
Came out feeling all right.
