Patients Running Thin

That's what I wanted to call our team, but we never did get set up as a team, officially. Susan, Nicole, Mikey and I donned our fake butts, our thongs, and our hospital gowns and headed off through a beautiful half marathon trail-run interspersed with fun obstacles. I think I could have done it pretty fast, but I am truly glad that we all hung out together the whole time. It was a nice pace. It got really hot. I'm hoping for some cool photos soon, but they are all on Nicole's phone.

Gotta say, I'm kinda turned off by the big business that these thing have become. $200+ entry fees, $5 for parking and a $5 bag check. Come on! Then spectators had to pay $15.

Oh well, we got muddy, we ran, we laughed. What more can a dude ask for?

Afterward we came here for burgers and food. Then I hung out with my kids while wifey tried to sleep. Then I mowed the lawn once it cooled down a tad. Got some other little chores done. Walked the dog and finally got me a much needed bath/shower.

Close call

11:45 pm and I finally got out the door for an 8 min mile.
Saw my wife for all of 2 minutes between me getting home and her leaving.
Got pulled over cause I didn't see the familia in the crosswalk. Warning and lecture. Thank you!
Spartan tomorrow AM. Oh boy!

Second hand smoke

The valley is full of smoke. But steve-o and I still got in a two miler under the moonlight.
Goodbye Grandpa. I love you and thank you for always being at all the big events and for your constant example of good and right. Rest now.

Kid

My sweet little girl did a ten minute mile with me during her favorite part of the day. Sweet kid. El perro hung out too.

Round Valley

Stopped in to see my little lady and went for a nice chill 2.75 mile trail jog just before. Like a good gentleman bronco, I had my shirt off and extracted power from the rays of the sun. does that make me immature? Well, if it doesn't, there is plenty of other stuff that does.

PALS - again!
One 11:30 trail mile at lunch.
Another 2.5 with SB1 on the prairie in the eventide.
Quite lovely.

We were about as far away as possible when we the "cap" called my cellular. So, we turned around and got some speed work in for about a half mile. Fast half mile. SB1's faster than mine.

anyhoo, we ended up with 2.6 mi. it was a quite moderate pace prior to the last bit. At some point (dunno how long) I did a 4:49. Of course we got cancelled and didn't go back out. That'll do, pig.
